A Tony Award®–winning hit comedy about well-meaning people on the brink.
At Berkeley’s proudly progressive Eureka Day School, every decision is made by consensus — until a mumps outbreak throws the community into crisis. As parents and board members debate vaccines, individual freedom, and “doing the research,” their culture of inclusion quickly unravels.
Written before the pandemic (yes, really), Jonathan Spector’s razor-sharp satire takes on misinformation, moral certainty, and the chaos that erupts when no one agrees on what’s true.
Last year, Eureka Day won the Drama Desk, Drama League, and Tony Award for best revival of a play, and now Surround Project brings it to San Antonio for the first time!
Get ready — the group chat is about to explode.
For adults 18+.
Please note: all ticket sales are final, and we’re unable to seat late arrivals.

REVIEWS
“ So brilliantly yoked to the current American moment—its flighty politics, its deadly folly—that it makes you want to jump out of your skin…I’m still trying to figure out how hard is appropriate for a critic to laugh at the theatre; this night, I made myself hoarse. ”
– The New Yorker
“Critic’s Pick! Jonathan Spector’s lively portrait of a debate over mandatory vaccinations is the perfect play for our age of disagreement.”
– The New York Times
“Spector… extract[s] comic gold from the little tugs-of-war for control among the members of the committee. But… this comedy of manners yields to a serious probing of interpersonal responsibility and the limits of consideration. …Even as it stakes out a moral position on its subject, Eureka Day avoids the kind of lording dismissal that, in too much of our social-media lives, has become epidemic.”
– Time Out New York
“Eureka Day [is] so brilliantly yoked to the current American moment – its flighty politics, its deadly folly – that it makes you want to jump out of your skin… The play’s most astonishingly accurate moment comes when the board convenes a livestream… I’m still trying to figure out how hard is appropriate for a critic to laugh at the theatre; this night, I made myself hoarse.”
