Meet Catherine Babbitt

Catherine Babbitt plays a central role in Joel Drake Johnson’s FOUR PLACES opening Thursday, June 13th for an eight-show run. Her character, Ellen, is a daughter, sister, widow, psychologist and mediator.
Catherine brings her considerable talent and experience along with her grounded sense of calm intelligence to the role and acts as the apex of a complicated family triangle of relationships.
We asked her a couple of questions about her process and thoughts on the play.
Catherine, why did you decide to work with The Surround Project on FOUR PLACES?
It was an opportunity to work on a really well crafted play with an immensely talented cast and director. 
Is there anything you recognize as true about the play?

The complexity of family dynamics and the destructive aspects of addiction.

What other artists inspire you?

Meryl Streep.

Grace

Not sure.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Authenticity.

Trying to give that up!

What sound or noise do you love?

Water running over rocks in a stream.

What sound or noise do you hate?

Fingernails on a chalkboard.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Advertising.

What profession would you not like to do?

Surgeon.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
