What’s your favorite children’s book?
For our final Surround Project PLAY DATE of 2026, we’re turning the Eureka Day set into a living library–filled with stories that will go on to support San Antonio families.
📚 How to Participate
- Bring a new or gently used children’s book to the performance on Saturday, May 2
- Drop off early via porch donation (email us to coordinate)
Your book will be displayed onstage during Eureka Day, then donated to two incredible local organizations.
We’re happy to suggest the cutest new local bookstore, Book Nerd, in Castle Hills. Head over and peruse the shelves while picking up a children’s book to donate.

Why Books?
Stories create belonging. They offer comfort, spark imagination, and open doors–especially for children navigating complex challenges. By filling our shelves, we’re building more than a set piece–we’re creating access to joy, learning, and connection.
Where Your Books Will Go
🩵 Any Baby Can of Southwest Texas
This nonprofit supports families of children with developmental and physical disabilities across 17 counties. Their services include free training, advocacy, and personalized support–along with compassionate bereavement care.
Donated books are used year-round in inclusive play spaces and respite programs, helping create calming, engaging environments where children can explore and connect.
🌍 Center for Refugee Services
Dedicated to helping legally resettled refugees build new lives in San Antonio, CRS promotes wellness, self-sufficiency, and community integration.
They’ve served thousands of individuals from more than 20 countries–many of them children adjusting to new homes, languages, and schools. Books provide a vital bridge: supporting literacy, cultural exchange, and a sense of belonging.
